First picture is from May 5th of 2011, second is from October 19th of 2012. Well considering the fact that these pictures are only 17 months apart, I'd honestly say I'm a bit shocked that I've improved so much. Since the first picture, I've learned how to utilize skeleton-bases and learned how to make lineart for and color pictures digitally. For those of you who are curious as to why you haven't seen the newer Sheila picture, it's part of a work in progress for a Sheila model sheet. (As promised with the results of a recent poll)

While not the most original piece (it is just a simple posing picture after all) I think that this is definitely a step forward for you, even if it is just a year's time lapse. The overall body shape has improved and the colouring technique is solid and straightforward, nothing too complicated The style of the lineart is also neat and tidy.
You have definitely improved with your expressions as well and have become more adventurous with your poses, even if it is in such a subtle way ^^. You have definitely got the cute factor sorted out here as well!
Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing more from you!
It's too bad you're not accepting critiques on this anymore. I think the original critique was a bit too low for this one. I think the Vision should be at least three stars for taking the time to make the lines crisper than the original. Certainly, in one year's time you've moved from mere pencil-on-paper to going about things on technical tools online and that should be a big benefactor in the scoring.
The color adds dimension to the image and is certainly an improvement over the original show's. It's the one picture in your gallery, Rocko cartoon's intended simplicity aside, which is well-modelled and balanced. Everything is matching dimension and there additions, nice touches, over the original sketch.
I would give 4 (or 3 1/2, for balancing sake) stars for vision, 3 for originality (because 2 1/2 over a simple standing pose seems a bit wasted), Technique keeps the five, and Impact would certainly at least be 4 1/2.
For me it's because RML alwas had a VERY simple design - it's not Disney level; it's easy to pick up and produce. Almost anyone can pretty much do it. Here, you were able to do that with due time and practice.
I think you'll master the Rocko-style work in no time flat. It's the Disney stuff or other complicated styles I think you'll need to work on. I just think the original critique by Frey was too low, even if the original comparison is almost a year old. xD
The key to something like Sheila or Heff and Rocko is remembering the shapes they take, almost all of them can be broken down into pottery-like designs. (they said the same thing like Disney's Aladdin, too. )
A pleasure, friend. :3 Always happy to lend a hand and opinion.
I wouldnt know how to critique it since its so good. Excellent use of colour, neat lines and looks as good as an animation cell from the show. Really, you are an talented artist.
